Donating blood is a powerful act of solidarity that can mean the difference between life and  death for many people. At CIMA Hospital, we make the process easy, safe, and efficient.  Here’s how you can take part in this life-saving effort and the steps to get started.

The process to donate blood at CIMA Hospital is very simple. Below we explain step by  step.

  1. Registration and interview: The donor must present themselves at the counter to complete the Blood Donor Interview.
  2. Vital signs measurement: Subsequently, their vital signs are measured, and a blood sample is taken to assess hemoglobin levels.
  3. Blood extraction: If everything is in order, the donor will proceed to blood extraction, which takes between 10 and 15 minutes.
  4. Rest: After the extraction, the donor should rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Refreshment: Finally, the donor can enjoy a refreshment at CIMA’s restaurant.

To donate blood, the following basic requirements must be met:

  • Be between 18 and 65 years old.
  • Weigh more than 50 kg.
  • Be healthy on the day of donation.
  • Have no tattoos done in the last 6 months.
  • Declare chronic diseases you suffer from and the medications for continuous use.

Yes, it is recommended to drink at least half a liter of water within two hours before donation to ensure a better experience during the process.

Only an appointment is required on weekends and on holidays.

The operating hours are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday: from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays: by appointment.
